Don't let Faux Klingons control the White House.

Sobering Quotation of the Day:

“As long as Americans persist in viewing [the Middle East] as another Americas and don’t recognize it as unique culture, Americans will be fated to misunderstand this area.”
- George McCellan, U.S. Civil War General

Nov. 18th, 2006 12:25 pm Video Binge

It started out as a little sip. Honest. Just this clip of the outgoing (F*** Yeah!) Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works James Inhofe (R-OK) being Not-OK in regards to the environment and God. Did Michelle Bachman get to him?

Then came the secret Desire I have to do the voice for movie trailers. Consequently, I love Don LaFontaine. And for a long time I thought he was the only one. Nope, he's just The Godfather. Here's...

5 of the Best:

Salivating over the vocal power in that limo got me thinking about my favorite Latino comic Pablo Fransisco. Pablo's a sound effects guru whose comedy is manically hilarious. First, his bit on...

Mexican Music:

The 6th degree separating LaFontaine from Fransisco is not Corsica but rather this bit on...

The Movie Trailer Guy:

Pumped up on delusions of grandeur, I soon believed I could stack dice in a cup just like this guy.

Thankfully, I was brought back to Earth by the heroics of a father and son.

Nov. 10th, 2006 11:24 am The Times They Are A-Changin'

Holy crap. Wednesday it hit 70 degrees and this morning there is a 1/4" of snow on the ground. I love it.

I feel like I've been living a perpetual party.  Patti (whom I was working with) won re-election (and by a larger margin than last election); the DFL took the MN House; made gains in the MN Senate; Dems won the U.S. House, then the Senate; Rumsfeld resigns; Walz beats Gutknecht -- god, Thanksgiving is going to be a major letdown.

The White House has a private movie theater, so in keeping up with the Joneses (whom have yet to occupy 1600 Pennsylvania Ave) cinephiles with money to burn have been building there own private theaters. And boy do I want "Techie Wonderland".

Marriage.  A nice wedge issue for the cynical, self-serving and righteous.  And I love b****-slapping the righteous.  So peruse...
     1. How non-marital intimate relationships will save marriage
     2. Mexico approving civil unions

And Dave Eggers has a new book out.  I missed his last one too.  That makes me sadder than you'd think.
